Pulmonary Medicine

The Division of Pulmonary Medicine provides treatment for infants and children with respiratory disorders. Our goal is to provide outstanding care diagnosing and treating our patients and educating them and their families about their illness. We also make it a priority to educate residents and medical students at Maine Medical Center about pediatric pulmonary medicine and to perform research into treatment of Cystic Fibrosis.

Common conditions we treat include asthma, cystic fibrosis, chronic lung disease of infancy (also known as bronchopulmonary dysplasia), persistent cough, chronic wheezing, recurrent pneumonia, congenital lung malformations, and sleep apnea and sleep disorders.

  • Difficulty breathing
  • Shortness of breath with exercise
  • Chest Pain
  • Snoring, breathing problems during sleep
  • Problems with sleeping
